Thank you so much for all that you have done for me and without your help I would have never done so well in high school. I definitely would not be accepted and attending University of Texas at Austin like I will be this fall.
I will never forget the hours I spent in your office playing games and puzzles over the course of 8 years: 1st grade through 8th. You helped me overcome and compensate for my learning disabilities; dyslexia and attention deficit disorder in a way that I never imagined possible. Tutoring once a week during the school year and 3 times per week during the summers throughout my elementary school and middle school years'. will always remain in my memory when I hear the name "Holly Graves and Associates"
I often think about how lucky I was to find you at such a critical time in my young life where you allowed me to be reassured and made to feel confident in my reading and comprehension. You were instrumental in helping me by providing me tutoring using the Linda Mood Method to help me overcome and compensate from my learning disabilities.
It was explained to me that my disabilities would be like running a race with two heavy sacks of rocks on my back while my classmates could run without any hindrances. I would have to develop strategies that would enable me to keep up with everyone else without disabilities. Over the course of my school years, I really struggled with my spelling, handwriting, and learning a foreign language. Reading was always difficult but I managed to devise strategies to compensate for my comprehension.
I remember doing games with you to increase my sensory-cognitve development, word attack, word recognition, and fluency and paragraph reading. It seemed like a never-ending battle with every grade I advanced where I had to made new strides in higher levels of reading. I remember complaining to my mother at times because I wanted to be done with my tutoring but it seemed I would never be done. This was a long hard climb and at times I felt like giving up, but thanks to you, Holly, I preserved.
I will be graduating from Cherry Creek High School on Wednesday, with high honors, a 3.9 weighted GPA, and scored an overall 34 on my ACT and a 35 in reading on this test. How can I ever thank you enough! Sincerely, Zach L
