SUMMER SCHEDULING & POLICY
2026 Summer Scheduling begins today.
Year-round intervention allows students to maintain skills and make steady progress in literacy and math. Research and our own data show that extended breaks often lead to regression in reading fluency, word identification, spelling, and written expression (“summer learning loss”).
Without exception, our students need to maintain instruction over the summer to support continuity and long-term growth. Summer learning is an opportunity to deepen instruction and ensure success.
Please read the information below carefully, as it outlines our summer scheduling policies.
Students Continuing Over the Summer
Students who continue over the summer and maintain the same number of weekly sessions will retain their current, school-year times for Fall 2026.
While the number of weekly sessions must remain the same as during the school year, the days and times are flexible for summer sessions. Please contact your clinician to build a summer schedule based on mutual availability. If you would like your student to come more frequently over the summer, just talk to your clinician. We try to close the office by 6pm M-Th during summer.
Reserved weekly times are billed as scheduled. Our Cancellation policy remains the same; Makeups based on availability.
Pausing Over the Summer
Families who choose to pause tutoring during the summer are welcome to return in the fall. Note:
- Fall spots are not guaranteed for students who discontinue over the summer.
- Returning students are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
- We maintain a waitlist and must offer open spots as they become available. If you plan to pause over the summer, please notify us by April 15, 2026 so we can schedule other families.
Summer is also a good time for students getting ready to apply for schools in the fall that will require entrance exams . We offer summer prep for ISEE (all levels) and HSPT (all levels).
Continued exposure to complex text and vocabulary strengthens students’ ability to apply decoding and comprehension strategies. Knowledge of affixes and roots both Greek and Latin increases reading level. Long-term preparation (recommended beginning one to two years in advance for our students) helps them build confidence, vocabulary, and test-taking strategies while reducing anxiety.
Thank you for partnering with us. Providing effective, individualized and prescriptive intervention remains our highest priority.
